Here’s a wonderful story about a silly monkey, delicious mangoes and a little elephant who loves to take his own sweet time when he’s told to do something.

Kidogo is oh, so slow when his mother tells him to eat breakfast or take a drink at the river. As a result, he is often hungry or thirsty because he never eats or drinks his fill.

Pole Pole is a mischievous monkey who is always in a hurry, and sometimes being in a big rush means he doesn’t always approach a job the way he should. For example, when it comes to collecting mangoes, “fast and furious” is not the approach to take, especially if you are dropping them down into a river where they can quickly float away!

These two creatures help one another in this story in an unusual manner and everyone benefits.

Children between the ages of three and six will not only be entranced by the illustrations of these two adorable animals but, hopefully, they’ll also get the message that there are times when being either too “slow” or too “fast” is not appropriate. Often “moderation” is the best course of action!
