A humorous story about
a young boy who wants to bring his new friend, a woolly mammoth,
to the library this tale covers all the potential benefits and problems
that such an unconventional visitor could present.
On one hand, Woolly
might be an asset since his size would make him the ideal assistant
when it comes to replacing books on the top shelves. And his delight
in hearing people read to him would be a plus in the Children's
Reading Corner because he would be the perfect audience for beginning
readers.
But Woolly's bulk would
obviously create other problems that might not be easily resolved.
Does the story's narrator get permission to bring Woolly into the
library? You'll have to read this picture book to find out. There
is a bit of a surprise at the end that you probably won't be expecting,
but my lips are sealed!
Fun illustrations make
this a story that young readers will enjoy returning to again and
again, so you can't go wrong adding this to your "to buy"
list of children's books!
