When a lion escapes
from the local zoo, Pig Pig is in for a big surprise. The shaggy
beast climbs in Pig Pig's bedroom window and plops down on the bed.
Fortunately this is
a very friendly lion and he only wants a buddy to play with. When
Pig Pig informs his mother they have a visitor, she doesn't take
him seriously. But the two romp around the house upsetting furniture
and having some topsy-turvy fun.
Eventually it appears
that the marauding lion will have to return to the zoo, but perhaps
not. Pay close attention to the end cover of this cute picture book
because there's an illustration there that suggests Pig Pig and
his new friend may have further adventures.
This would be an ideal
book to start a beginning reader on since the text is manageable
and not too lengthy. You'll also find that the author sprinkles
in quite a few prepositions that work nicely with the action on
each page. |
