Jeanna Young and Jacqueline Johnson, with the help of illustrator
Omar Aranda, have produced three wonderful books for children four
and up that tells stories to illustrate parables from the Bible.
The authors take a slightly different approach to introducing the
parables. They give the story first and then present the reader
with a parable that makes both the story and the parable more meaningful.
Each of the three books teaches a different parable. The stories
are straightforward and to point and the illustrations bring the
story to life and will be appreciated by young readers.
Princess Hope and the Hidden Treasure is the story of a princess
and her search for a special object and her faith and determination
allowed her to find the special object that meant so much to her.
Then the authors explained how this story was like the parable in
the bible: Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking
for fine pearls. Matthew 13:44-45
