The three pups are back in this picture book for
children three years of age and up, as they take over policing the
other bedroom toys. First they slip on their helmets, and then the
pups are off on their motorcycles to act as traffic control officers.
Then other
toy animals have discovered some new cars to play with and they
carelessly zoom around the room. That just won't do if they can't
obey the traffic rules. Mouse and Toad are driving too fast, so
they get speeding tickets. Goose runs a red traffic light, so he
gets one too.
Next there is a big traffic jam after Bear collides
with a pole. Oh what a mess! The traffic pups have plenty to deal
with, but the three little fellows are up to the job. And, when
everyone is finished playing, it is time to park the cars back in
their special spot.
The first pup·s book, Pilot Pups, was quite
popular with the younger set, and this follow-up is just as good.
Dan Andreasen·s illustrations will appeal to youngsters who
will discover that these stuffed animals all have lives of their
own and spring to life whenever the little boy who owns them leaves
his bedroom.
