This
endearing picture book introduces Pipkin, a little bunny with
a hankering to be an artist. When Pipkin discovers some artist
supplies left in a cottage garden he tries his hand at painting.
Actually, the little fellow is pretty good.
When the painter returns and discovers there's a talented
bunny living in his garden, he suggests that rather than do
large, full size paintings, Pipkin tackle something that will
be easier to manage. The artist gives the bunny some eggs.
Creating vibrant designs and decorations on the eggs, Pipkin
has found the perfect way to express his creative side and
the artist has some very colorful eggs to give his grandchildren.
Although this offers an interesting variation on the Easter
bunny story and Easter eggs, this is a book that can be enjoyed
all year around not just during the Easter season. The art
is excellent and there's an extended narrative here so children
who are beginning to read will find some "substance"
to this book.
