Oh
dear, Alma has left Moo-Moo (her stuffed toy cow) out in the
rain. Poor Moo-Moo is soaked and Doc McStuffins will have
to work her magic to get the toy repaired and dried out. With
a little help from the other toys at the Toy Hospital, Moo-Moo
will soon be fit as a fiddle.
Not only
does this level-one reader have a story that will hold a child's
attention but there's also some "substance" here
as well. This is not one of those super short tales that really
has little action or character development.
When
the child finishes this adventure he/she can take pride in
finishing a story that has some substance to it. The short
sentences and dialogue will keep the beginning reader engaged
without being too difficult to handle.
All in
all, this is the kind of reader that will have a positive
impact when it comes to starting the child out on the right
track and making it possible for him/her to master reading.
