Poor Penelope!
It is raining and she can’t go outside to play. What’s
the poor little girl going to do? “What would you do
if you had your druthers?” asks her father.
Good question, but Penelope doesn’t know what “druthers”
are. Once her father explains, the fun begins and, as you
will see, the rainy day turns into one of fun and adventure
thanks to a little girl’s imagination.
Enjoy Penelope’s flights of fancy in this picture book
that celebrates not only imagination but also the fun a father
and his daughter can have on a rainy afternoon. Matt Phelan’s
illustrations make a good story even better as they make it
easy to visualize Penelope’s special adventures.
