Another
picture book in the Bear Book series by Frank Asch,
this newest story follows Baby Bear as he emulates his father.
From the time he wakes up until dinner, Little Bear mimics
the person he most admires.
Father
and son have breakfast, slip into their gear and head out
to the lake for a little fishing. Naturally, when they are
finished it is time to fry a pan of fresh fish on an open
fire.
This
series doesn't feature a lot of dialogue or text, but Asch
lets his illustrations do the talking. The large, colorful
pictures attract young readers and hold their attention; hence,
Baby Bear has become quite popular. If your child hasn't discovered
this likeable character, now might be a good time to do so!
