Simpson’s sheep won’t go to sleep!
They sky’s too dark. The moon’s too bright.
Then someone starts a tickle fight.
They smell a smell. They have an itch.
They can’t lie Still, They have to twitch.

Poor Farmer Simpson is desperate for sleep but his sheep want to stay up. No matter how hard he tries, the sheep just won’t go to sleep. Farmer Simpson comes up with an idea, but will it work? Will he finally get the sleep he needs? It’s a delightful story about a farmer taking care of his animals. The story in is rhyme; the illustrations are original, colorful and amusing. These sheep say so much with their eyes – too cute.

Author and illustrator Bruce Arant has three children and is familiar with the many bedtime excuses. I’m so glad he created Farmer Simpson and his sheep. The storyline reminds me of the many times I listened to my daughter putting her son to bed. She had the same idea as Farmer Simpson. My grandson, like his mother, loves stories that rhyme, so this is the perfect gift for them. Children, parents and grandparents will enjoy reading this adorable story.
