Buster is a little garbage truck with big dreams. He loves being a garbage truck and can't wait until he grows up so he can work with his dad. But there's something about being a garbage truck that Buster finds out is very scary - loud noises! When his dad tries to teach him how to honk his horn loudly, Buster gets scared. He gets even more scared when all of the other garbage trucks honk their horns and rev their loud engines. Can Buster overcome his fear of loud sounds and become a brave garbage truck?

Being a mother of an autistic child with sensory processing disorder, loud noises are a big issue; they can be so intrusive to his ears that he freezes in place with his hands over his ears, unable to focus or think. This book hit home in so many ways in how we can help our son with his sensitivity to sound. We both love reading about Buster and his kitty.

The illustrations by Kevin Zimmer are adorable. Alex loved the "motion" Zimmer managed to capture in the each picture.

Buster is an amazing book for any child. I recommend it for everyone.
