This "Know/Wonder" board book introduces toddlers to some creatures found in the ocean. Featured in the book are a turtle, dolphin, octopus, walrus, sea lion and a couple of otters and sea horses.

Along with some excellent color photos each animal's two page spread includes text explaining something about how it lives in the water. At the bottom of the first person narrative page you'll also find a sound associated with the baby animal. For the turtle it is "paddle, paddle" while the dolphin makes a "click, click!" noise and the otter's representative sound is "SPLASH!".

Young children will have fun learning to reproduce the these sounds and identify the baby animals. This would be an excellent picture book to use to introduce a youngster to what he or she might encounter on a trip to a local aquarium.
