Anthony Browne
explores feelings in this picture book featuring a little monkey
who manages to capture every mood the author wants to emphasize.
The book begins with a question - "How do you feel?"
"Well,
sometimes I feel bored
and sometimes I feel lonely," explains
the picture book's narrator. Keep turning the pages and you'll discover
the monkey expressing happiness, sadness, anger, guilt, curiosity
and a number of other emotions. Of course, the oversized illustrations
and the expressive simian face will mirror each of the key words
in the text. Whether it's expressing shyness, being worried about
something or being sleepy, the monkey manages to express the feeling.
At the very
end of the book you'll find two pages of smaller illustrations repeating
each of the emotions so you can have some fun seeing if your child
can recognize the expressions without the key words and text.
