Peter and Annie are brother and sister whose lives are ultimately changed during a rock climbing adventure where Peter is forced to make a split second decision that changes the course of their lives.

Years later, Peter is now a Wildlife photographer who has shut himself off from his those around him.  Annie is an expert mountain climber whose goal is to climb the world’s largest peak.  Now Annie is trapped in an icy cave at the top of this peak at 26,000 feet, a zone where no human can live for long, and Peter must reach his sister in time to save her life.

Written from the hit movie of the same name, Vertical Limit keeps you on the edge of your seat.  Lots of action and suspense made for a pretty good read. Some of the equipment terminology can get a little beyond the reader at times though, I have a feeling the movie will be much better than the book.  There are eight pages of photographs from the movie which really helps the reader to visualize this mountain.
