Wade was a normal boy who just wanted to go camping with his best friend. However, nothing else is normal that night, as Wade and his best friend are attacked by vampires. While Josh is instantly killed, Wade is taken back to the vampire's lair. Cassandra, the head vampire of this group, has taken a liking to Wade and decides to make him her plaything. At first Wade is scared and even a little excited. Soon, Wade loses all excitement and is concerned that he will never again be free. This would be a very valid worry if it were not for Donavon, a good vampire, who is determined to stop Cassandra and her evil ways. A battle between good and evil rages and will not end until one comes out victorious.

Captivity is an apt title as it kept me captivated throughout because of Suzane's original way of writing about vampires. It was enormously compelling that she made her own world with her own rules. She took a chance, went against convention and was very successful. My favorite was that only five percent of the population has the ability to change into a vampire. I believe that vampire fans as well as others will enjoy this alluring new series.
