The "Inexquisite Eye" is about standing up to one's own convictions and sticking to your guns.

This book introduces the reader to Elissa Laughlin, a young attorney with a hopeful future until she loses herself. She makes the decision that she will not bend over backwards for anyone, including her bosses, her boyfriend, or her dysfunctional family. She sets herself aside from everyone else and decides that she is going to do what she wants to do, not what everyone wants her to do or what she thinks everyone else wants her to do.

The story contains a lot of dialogue, which leads the reader to dislike Elissa's character and takes away from what the author is trying to show: that Elissa severely needs therapy and a huge dose of reality. D. B. Smith does a great job in showing Elissa interacting with her bosses and family and how Warren, Elissa's boyfriend, is able to know what he wants. He wants Elissa, despite her self-centered decisions. The book flows well and doesn't confuse the reader about where or when the story is taking place.

The "Inexquisite Eye" shows how much a person must be willing to stake when they try to hold onto their beliefs.
