Seven Loves

by Valerie Trueblood

A wandering story told through the eyes of May Nilsson. May recounts through her life the love for her husband and children as well as others who find a place in her world. Told in time frames from when she is an old woman to when she was a child you see May as a working senior to one who has had two strokes.

May, a former teacher, has a horrible moment in which she must confess when she is pregnant that she has been with another man. Fearing her husband may discover her infidelity when her child is born due to the color of the child’s skin. She is unsure who the father is. He could be the high school principal she met at a teachers’ conference or her loving husband Cole, the doctor. May is not a saint but rather a woman living every moment of her life.

There are moments of happiness and tragedy. All along though you know that May feels love for her friends and family no matter what condition she is in. See if you can realize who the "Seven Loves" of May’s life really are.
