Sex and the City
by Candace Bushnell
Read by Cynthia Nixon
Sex and the City is a collection of observations on life and romance in Manhattan as told through the columns
that inspired the series and later movie.
Often cynical, often amusing, the book is a collection of short outtakes from columns woven together to provide a
glimpse of the romance, or lack thereof, common in Manhattan’s socially mobile and ambitious crowd. Told from Carrie’s
point of view, the reporter takes us through a series of short clips and small events to build a larger picture of
the romantic situation in the big city.
Cynthia Nixon does a great job with narration, keeping it light and enjoyable. If you’re interested in the series,
or what’s behind it, you’ll find this an enjoyable listen. |
