Any Minute

by Joyce Meyer & Deborah Bedford
Read by Ellen Archer

"...it is impossible to be both selfish and happy at the same time..." —Grandma Annie, Any Minute.

Sarah Harper is a wife, mother, investment broker, and an amazing multi-tasker. She is driven at all she does, and fellow brokers in the Chicago financial district like to tease her about it. Her boss considers her the best and expects her to be available at all hours.  Her unpaid assistant Leo wants to be like her and makes his own personal sacrifices. Unfortunately, behind every driven person is a past. Sarah’s is revealed when she visits her parents.

Sarah’s daughter is Kate. To keep Kate safe, Sarah monitors the nanny via nannyratingdotcom. The nanny is making her own personal sacrifices to care for Kate. Sarah’s son, Mitchell, likes the Cubs. When he goes to a Cubs game with his dad, he gets a rare glimpse of the man called Wingtip, in the scoreboard—the old fashioned board with scores set by hand. Joe, Sarah’s husband, can’t see Wingtip but wishes Sarah would join them as promised. When Sarah breaks her promise, it puts a wall of hurt and distrust between her and her little family. The wall grows with each disappointment. When Sarah tries to outrun common sense, she experiences regrets and "life on the other side." And that’s when the story really begins...

Any Minute is an inspiring yet haunting story about life’s disappointments and supernatural deliverance. With a theme similar to Angels in the Outfield, Meyer offers a story about Sarah, a professional and a scheduler in everything but her passing... The book is well-written. The story and the dialogue flow. The characters, each with their own stories, are genuine. Being an inspirational novel, there are religious references, but the authors don’t knock listeners over the head with them.

Actress and 2007 Audie Award winner, Ellen Archer, narrates Any Minute. The reading is gentle, articulate and persuasive as each character’s view is presented. Archer also narrates Meyer’s first novel The Penny—a 2008 Audie Award Nominee.
