In the Midst of It All
by Tiffany L. Warren
This was an interesting story about a 17-year old teen, Zenovia. I followed her through
the trials and tribulations of her growth from teen to adulthood, and the issues she had to
face. Zenovia had the responsibility of caring for her mother and keeping peace around the
house, and the burden placed on her was stressful. Zenovia thought she could handle everything,
until she realized she needed God to come into her life and lend her a hand. Zenovia and her
mother join the Brethren of the Sacrifice, a cult-like Christian group. There she tries to
deal with the pressures of high school, getting good grades, and boyfriends. When she leaves
for college, she leaves the Brethren behind and continues her search for God.
I could relate to Zenovia. I enjoyed this story of faith and understanding, and the quest
to have it all, and understand that to have it all you can’t do it all alone. You will always
need God. This is a very intriguing Christian novel with a religious tone. The author’s
characterization was right on target, and I will definitely read more from this talented writer. |
