What would you
do if a god rose at the foot of your bed on a moon-drenched night
in the top of a Mesopotamian Step Temple and your Dachshund told
you it was a bad idea? Shar Summer didn't listen.
Abby Richmond can't decide what is more shocking. Her Newfie, Bowser,
is talking to her or she can cook. And oh my, oh my, there's that
thing that happens when a certain math professor tries her cookies.
And don't forget dear, sweet Daisy who becomes a bona fide crazy-maker
when she gets picked up (literally) after taking her mother's Jack
Russell. Bailey, to The Kammani Gula Dog Obedience Course.
They and four of their cousins have been called into the service
of that powerful "Barbie doll from hell" Kammani Gula.
After 4000 years of sleeping under the Mesopotamian sand, Kammi
heard the voice of millions calling her name; empowering her to
rise and subjugate the masses again. Except it wasn't her name they
called, it was the latest Hollywood baby "Cami" and a
million spelling-challenged Google users can't be wrong!
This book is hilarious from beginning to end. I usually don't care
for the team-effort type writing because it can be disjointed. These
authors pull it off in style, including the surprise ending! The
narrator has an even greater challenge than usual, the character
ages range from a few weeks to many decades (centuries if you count
the goddess), both sexes and two species. I can't over-emphasize
how funny the scenes are, how uncomplicated the talking dogs are,
and the wonderful moral of the story: Every woman is a goddess in
her own right and the perfect match will set off a Glittery Hooha! |
