Humankind has always pondered the unknown, with death and the afterlife providing the deepest mystery of all. For as long as there have been words, people have strived to communicate their own beliefs to one another. The Bible, of course, teaches lessons on these subjects, but sometimes these lessons can feel overwhelming, especially to teens and young adults.

Author Kari has written a novel that includes teenagers, families, criminals and celebrities, who are dealing with life, death, and Heaven and Hell issues. The story is believable, easy to read, and the cast of characters are all too human. Love and family, sin and remorse, and the power of prayer are all topics examined closely.

While the novel deals with the lives of fictional characters, it gives readers examples of how a person can make changes in their own life. People who face adversity in the book opt to deal with their misery in varied ways, and their outcomes reveal the consequences of their actions.

With a few unexpected twists and turns along the way, “On the Other Side of the Glass” is entertaining as well as uplifting.
“On the Other Side of the Glass” would serve well as a teaching book for parents and teens to read and discuss together, as well as a good selection for a book group.
