The Winter
Ghosts begins with the main character bringing a medieval relic
to a bookseller, who in turns asks where it came from - and so the
tale begins
Fredrick Watson
is a man haunted by his late brother and the memories of their parents.
Freddie's brother died in the Great War. Freddie's mother wished
it was him... His father didn't care
On his visit to France,
Freddie's brother follows him, or so he thinks
Freddie is
hoping France in its winter wonderland changes his outlook on life.
As the tale progresses, readers will discover Freddie's full story.
Fredrick Watson
heads up the mountain road to Vicdessos. It's an atmosphere of snow,
mist, whispers in the wind and a Watcher. In the mountains Fredrick
stays in a village with a unique history. It's here he has a strange
experience which leads him on a haunting search
In following
along with Freddie I wonder if it will be his physical or mental
undoing...
The Winter
Ghosts is deliciously eerie. Readers will discover the story
moves quickly. Mosse has the gift of a storyteller. She uses the
main character's voice to tell his story as well as key historical
moments in both England and France. This is my first Mosse novel.
I enjoyed her writing style as well as the wonderfully unique storyline.
Irecommend it to anyone who enjoys historical novels.
