Zara
is a midwife in a charming country-village called Talyton
St. George. She's recently divorced and living with her grandmother,
trying to get her life together. Between taking care of Gran,
an ex-husband who shows up whenever he wants, and dealing
with deliveries in her job as a midwife, Zara's life is far
from ideal. One day she spies a puppy tied to a tree along
the road and, although Zara has a childhood fear of dogs,
there's something about this puppy that draws her. Despite
her fears, Zara adopts the puppy and names her Frosty, only
to learn the dog has a mind of her own.
Zara's
married twin, Emily, has a hired shepherd named Lewis who
watches after their lambs. She is immediately attracted to
him and the attraction appears mutual. When Lewis informs
Zara that Frosty is deaf and offers to help Zara train the
puppy. Zara readily accepts his offer and learns hand signals
to compensate for the dog's deafness. Then life gets more
complicated as Zara and Lewis begin to fall in love.
Follow
Me Home is a charming novel of English country life from
Cathy Woodman, the international bestselling author of City
Girl, Country Vet, set in a romantic British town. While
this novel is the 8th release in a well-loved series originally
published in Britain, it stands alone as a great read, with
charming, loveable characters and an idyllic village setting
that anyone would love to visit. The town and its characters
are all irresistible and, because the novel is written in
first person, Zara's character has thoughtful characterization,
providing laughter, emotional uncertainties, growing determination
and hidden desires. Lewis is one sexy hero, with just the
right qualities to complement Zara. In short, Follow Me
Home is chock full of the tingle and thrill of new romance.
