Upon starting this audio-book I wasn’t sure what to expect,
especially because of the name. I understood it was a fictional
story but I wasn’t sure exactly what genre it would
fall under. I listened to the first 3 chapters before I decided
I was enjoying the story; I really liked the main character
“Deanna” a.k.a. “Jessica.” I didn’t
know whether to feel sorry for her because she was so reclusive
or be thankful there wasn’t an actual person like this.
There were times where I caught myself sitting on the edge
of my seat waiting to hear what “Deanna” was getting
ready to do.
I liked
the way Ms. Torre wrote The Girl in 6E; I love the
way she made the main character interesting right from the
start and the detail and information she put in about the
clients “Deanna” interacted with via computer.
Ms. Torre did a wonderful job of finding a way to draw the
reader in right away and making them curious and a little
fearful as well about “Deanna” and then making
the reader like and consider “Deanna” a hero in
the end. The one thing I didn’t like was some of the
erotic things that were mentioned in the story. I think Ms.
Torre could have left some of the details out and it wouldn’t
affect the story at all.
I liked
the way this story was narrated; I feel like Jorjeana Marie
read this really well and I loved the way her voice was able
to make me feel like I was really there. I was able to forget
where I was and really get into the story. Jorjeana Marie
is a stand-up comic, an actress, and a voice over artist as
well as a narrator for audio-books. Some of the books she
has narrated are Firstborn by Lorie Ann Grover and
Liv, Forever by Amy Talkington. Out of a score of
10, I give The Girl in 6E and A.R. Torre a “7”
and Mrs. Marie an “8.”
