Writing Measurable IEP Goals and Objectives
By Barbara D. Bateman and Cynthia M. Herr

Writing Measurable IEP Goals and Objectives takes a hard-core look at how Individualized Education Programs (IEP) are created and how they could be written better to help the students. The beginning of the book shows examples of how goals and objectives can be written so they are more measurable and more apt to show a student's progress instead of being a generalized goal and objective. The end of the book gives several examples of goals and objectives for several different students that are in several different school settings and grades.

Writing Measurable IEP Goals and Objectives should be a required handbook for anyone involved in the IEP process, be it someone that writes a part of the IEP, or someone that sits in on the IEP follow-up meetings. Several times, many IEPs do not specify certain goals and objectives that truly affect "Johnny" and this book could be used as a strong handbook to help "Johnny" have specified goals and objectives that "Johnny" could achieve and show true progress.
