Dancing with my Daughter
By Jayne Jaudon Ferrer
This
book of poetry delves into the special bond that exists between
mothers and daughters. From infancy to adulthood, Ferrer lyrically
expresses the heartaches, joys, frustrations, and turbulence that
often define this unique relationship. Some poems rhyme, others
do not, still others are written more as specific thoughts but the
end creation is a nice volume of poetry to be shared with daughters
and their mothers.
Ferrer seems to
find greater inspiration in the turbulence than the joys, which
offers readers an alternative to the overly-sentimentalized poetry
books with the same theme.
