Chasing Down the Dawn
Life Stories

by Jewel

Known for her melodic lyrics and picturesque poetry and prose, Jewel brings to the table another collection of short stories and vignettes, some written for directly for this audio collection and others taken from her journal that will pull listeners into the hypnotic swirl of words and alphabetical constellations that is the world through the eyes of Alaska's true native child.

I've always been a fan of Jewel's music and poetry. The pictures painted by her words and voice give the listener a chance to view the world through someone else's eyes. I jumped at the chance to hear this collection and before beginning my journey through it, felt determined to express the sheer greatness of its harmonious sounds, but after finishing it, I can honestly say, that the only way to truly feel just how surreal nature of Jewel's writings is to experience them for yourself.
