Mobs, Messiahs, and Markets
Surviving the Public Spectacle in Finance and Politics
by William Bonner & Lila Rajiva
William Bonner and Lila Rajiva have compiled a somewhat comprehensive read about the political structure and
condition of the financial markets around the world and in this country. It is a tad on the irreverent side, but
a bit serious at the same time. It is hard-hitting and quick reading, which I must say, makes a rather dull
subject matter much more interesting than it would appear. They go into the "do-gooders" and the
"world-improvers" who, in their drive for control, set up mass hysterias and frenzied buying and selling of
goods, monies, stocks and all the other commodities which control the everyday, mundane lives of the general
population.. They make wars, and financial crises at a moment’s notice just to control the masses. No matter
what your personal political persuasion, you will learn a lot about the world if you read this book. Personally,
I found some of it a bit tilted as to politics and party; however, others may find it delightful in every way.
It also has a very strong element of humor laced into the reading, which makes it a lot more palatable,
entertaining, and enjoyable. I had to laugh many times during my reading of Mobs, Messiahs, and Markets,
but also found much of it to be spot on.
This book on the art of governments making, using and spending money is a very useful tool if you know how
to figure it all out, and these two authors have put a great deal of introspection and knowledge into
Mobs, Messiahs, and Market. |
