David Hunter is a man who recognizes the absurd in so many of the situations that we encounter every day. His unique way of looking at things is sometimes laugh-out-loud funny, and sometimes heart-rending, but always entertaining.

From Here to Absurdity: Pink Flamingos, Vibrators and other Comical Events is a book of essays about Hunter's experience in the military, his fear of flying, his stint as a law enforcement officer, and historical events that caught his attention. The author of 16+ books and an opinion column in the Knoxville News Sentinel, Hunter writes with great humor and wit, just what I needed to perk up my week-end.

It is a crazy world we live in, and David Hunter takes on everything from potted meat to the KKK.....from Abe Lincoln and the gay rumors, to what Southern Chivalry is all about.

All this and more comes under Hunter's scrutiny in a book that you can read straight through, or pick and choose chapters according to your interests.
