David Temple and his wife, Belinda Lucas, appeared to have the perfect
marriage. David was always known to be king in his world, especially
on the football field. His football skills landed him a coaching
job at the high school where he was the star. Belinda was friendly
with everyone. Their perfect life shattered when Belinda’s
corpse was found in a closet. Did David kill his beautiful wife?
Kathryn Casey does an amazing job in telling this eight-year-long
investigation story. The descriptions of Belinda and David were
on point to show that even though Belinda was friendly and popular
with everyone, David appeared to have a cold and angry streak. David
was used to being the center of attention. David also became extremely
overprotective of their son, Evan, and paid a lot of attention to
him.
Casey’s description of the trial is entertaining and allows
readers to feel like they are in the courtroom when the trial finally
happens. Readers learn all the small details of David’s personality
and the background of what really happened on January 11, 1999.
Belinda Lucas appears to have received justice for her murder.
