The book is about some of the most popular haunted places in
the world. Some of the places discussed are: The Knickerbocker
Hotel in Pennsylvania; Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West
Virginia; and The Stanley Hotel in Colorado; as well as many
other places. Each place that is discussed starts off each
new chapter with what had occurred there in the first place,
and then goes on to talk about the paranormal occurrences
that have happened at that place. The end of each chapter
mentions a conclusion and has a little section called“Tools
of the Trade,”which gives information about the area
before someone may decide to go. The Tools of the Trade are
usually things that the reader may want to take with them
to that place in order to try to experience some paranormal
activity.
I really enjoyed not only reading this book
to myself, but being able to read this book to my husband
and my daughter. We are all really interested in ghosts and
paranormal things like this, and this book is one of the best
I have read in a long time. I really want to find more books
that have been written by Ms. Argie and see if any of her
paranormal books are just as good.
One of the only problems I had with this book
is that the chapters were quite long. I can understand why
they were, but after I would read about one of the places,
I would have to wait and read about another one on a different
day. I wish there had been more pictures included in the book.
Perhaps after each place mentioned, there could have been
pictures of the place then and now, as well as some pictures
of some paranormal sightings that were caught on film.
Other
than those two issues, I don’t have anything else bad
to say about this wonderful book or about the authors. I think
anyone who loves to read about paranormal activity or creepy
places would love this book. Out of a score of 10 I give
America’s Most Haunted a “10,”and Ms.
Argie & Mr. Olsen a“9.” |
