Want
to take a trip on America's backroads? Then listen to
Joe Barrett as he reads the experiences of William Least
Heat Moon on his travels across America on the blue highways—those
highways that were so small they were printed in blue.
In Moon's delightful book Blue Highways, the reader will
enjoy meeting the people of rural America and observing
their customs. The reader may even see their own town
discussed or at least mentioned. Two towns near me were
reffered to (Minnie and Mousie, Kentucky).
If
you have the print version, pull it out and read along
as Barrett tells (reads) the stories.
After
listening (or reading) the material, the reader will
have the urge to set out—not to Epcot or Disney
World but to some small town with an unusual name that
has captured his attention. After getting the idea of
the book, the reader can start at any point, but I suggest
you enjoy all his experiences.
