There
are lots of books of true ghost stories, many of which describe
in detail the places where the hauntings occur so you can
visit for yourself. This book goes one further, as it is a
guide to how to "identify and investigate" ghosts.
The Ghost Club was founded in 1862, but people have been seeing
ghosts and recording their experiences since Roman times.
This book describes what you need to equip yourself with in
order to (hopefully) see and record paranormal activity and
explains how ghost hunting has changed down the years. There
are lists of the most haunted cities, pubs, castles, roads
etc., in the UK and elsewhere, descriptions of famous hauntings
and how they were investigated. This is the sort of book you
can happily dip into at odd occasions, open any page and there
is something interesting to discover. A chapter with proof
for the existence of the paranormal balanced out with plenty
of tales of hoaxes and how they were debunked makes for a
thought-provoking read. It is good to know that you don't
need a lot of equipment to start ghost hunting either, and
even if you don't believe in ghosts there is plenty of evidence
for their existence in here. In short, the sort of book that
gives pleasure for quite a long time which is a good thing
to say about anything.
