This
is a book aimed at those who enjoy both quilting and puzzles
as there are 72 word searches in here, all with a quilting theme.
All are large print, so easy on the eyes in low light or for
those with less than perfect eyesight, although presumably they
are puzzle fans only rather than quilters too! There is a puzzle
on each bright white page, and these have themes such as cats
and quilting, places to hide fabric, quilting nightmares, sewing
machines, templates etc. The paper is my favorite feature and
would be ideal for coloring books or anything you have to write
in. I am a puzzle fan and tend towards magazines, but these
often have very poor quality paper so drawing those loops around
words in here is a treat. The author says that she conceived
the idea waiting around at airports, and on the back it says
the book is ideal for “anywhere you have to wait.”
I can certainly imagine it on a plane, a cruise or on vacation,
but if you have waiting rooms in mind then this is not a light
book (the lovely paper) and quite large 11” x 8½”
format. It also says it is ideal for group activity, and given
the size this is an option. Wherever you do it and who with,
this is a novel twist on a favorite puzzle and an ideal gift
for the quilter (and puzzler) in your life. |
