Go on a virtual road trip with this fun book and color your way across America. There are 55 different stamp shaped pictures in here depicting 50 states and 5 top national parks. You could even take this book away with you…

Not that it is small (11” x 8½”) but coloring is an activity that can be done while travelling or once you arrive at your destination. The paper is fairly standard, being a smooth, bright white and of reasonable quality; the images are printed on one side only so you can use a wide variety of media for coloring. I recommend putting a sheet of card underneath if you want to use anything other than pencils for best results. There is a helpful chart at the beginning showing all 25 colors and unusually a selection of six tints, tones and shades of the color so you can choose the ultimate look of your work. Each stamp takes up most of a page but allows a space at the bottom for testing colors, which can be cut off, and there is a useful dotted line in the margin for removal. The stamps depict a typical scene associated with the state plus the words (state name) Forever. Also featured are the state flower or bird, sometimes both and there is a list of these. Choose from surfboards and a wave (Hawaii), motor racing (Indiana), Route 66 (Oklahoma) and more. Inside the back cover is a list of all 5 thumbnails, very small to see but visible (a magnifying glass helps) showing them colored in. Having a foldout page showing them larger would have been better, but overall this is a fun and imaginative book that will appeal to both sexes and varied ages. The pictures are fairly simplistic so would be ideal for beginner colorists or children, or anybody who just wants to chill out rather than wrestle with more complex images.
