Alex Cross is back
and this time it is personal. His adversary is someone who knows every
move he makes and knows everything about him. His name is the Mastermind
and his sole purpose in life is to make Alex Cross suffer. More and more
people that are close to Alex continue to die and there is no way for
him to stop the massacre so as usual he goes back to work as a policeman
involved with the FBI. The FBI desperately needs his help in their new
case. People are being found dead, strung from the ceiling upside down,
drained of all of their blood. No one wants to believe that vampires are
real and the cause of these murders but they must face what they believed
to be impossible. While Alex is dealing with the mastermind and the supposed
vampires, he must also try to keep his family safe and happy. While this
was possible during his other cases, now it is not as easy and Alex must
face the question: Can he continue to be on the police force?
Violets are Blue has
redeemed the Alex Cross series for me. I did not like Roses are Red, and
I was hoping that this book was going to turn out better. It did. Violets
are Blue have Alex Cross back to acting himself, although his moping over
women does get a little tiring. What I felt to be the best part of this
book were the revelations that Alex comes to about his life and will change
the whole series. This is a book that you will not want to miss.
