The
Fifth Angel
By Tim Green
Long Island Attorney Jack Ruskin has
aptly named himself the Fifth Angel, the angel of vengeance. His
teen daughter Janet is in a mental ward, emotionally suffering from
the aftereffects of an attack by a sexual predator.
Jack
deals with his anger by ridding the world of predators like the
ex-con who attacked his daughter. He hunts them down the same way
they hunt down innocent children, then violently takes revenge.
Jack is meticulous in his efforts to make sure he doesn't leave
evidence behind, but nothing's perfect.
FBI
agent Amanda Lee has just suffered the loss of a partner. She wants
more time off, but to do so would cost her valuable time in her
career. Instead, she accepts an assignment from her new boss, a
man who is not a fan of hers, to say the least. Amanda joins local
law enforcement to solve the murders and becomes emotionally involved.
The
choices she makes will certainly provoke readers' opinions and Green's
blow-by-blow descriptions each time Jack makes his choice and begins
his hunt will have readers on the edge of their seats.
The
abridged audio brings this stark, suspenseful, emotional ride to
life, and it's not a ride for everyone. Don't grab for this ticket
unless you know you're up to it.
Author
Tim Green is a football player turned best-selling writer. Listeners
will enjoy the interview at the end of the audio book, where Tim
discusses bestsellers and touchdowns. You can also find him on NPR
and Fox Sports.
Narrator
of the audio book is actor Tate Donovan, known for Memphis Belle,
Love Potion #9, Ethan Frome, Disney's Hercules, TV's Friends
and Ally McBeal. Donovan reads suspense very well. His ability
to carry off the action scenes is impressive. Good choice, Time
Warner.
