Harold Chester Kingman is the president and CEO of Trans Global Energy Corporation. He's
bought a large area near Houston, Texas and named everything within distance after himself
(roads, small town, etc.). It's here at the Trans Global's refinery where a nuke is set off.
At a multi-purpose range complex, soon-to-be hero, Army Major Jason Richter is practicing
with a 3-meter tall robotic figure called CID (pronounced Sid), which mimics humans. The
perfection of its movements may seem exaggerated, but it still adds to the action of this
thriller. Once the Major hears about the terrorist act, he lines up a humvee, a schnook
and heads to Kingman's City with CID. Richter knows only CID can go into the radioactive
area.
Richter and the nation wants to know "who, what and why." And so will anyone else listening
to the audio book Act of War. Brown blends technology, military, civilians, action,
and mistrust to create a nonstop suspenseful thriller. Just when you think it's going well,
something happens. Just when you think you've got the story or the characters sorted out,
something else happens. It's a thrilling ride.
Larry Pressman narrates Act of War. His delivery is very good -calculating during signs
of mistrust in the storyline. Highly recommend. One to pass on to your friends.
