The Lincoln Lawyer
by Michael Connelly
Performed by Adam Grupper
Los Angeles criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller defends the lowest of the low, not to
be confused with the poorest of the poor. Haller is not a well-liked lawyer due to his
choice of clients. This time, he has a rich client, and innocent though the client might
be, the cops and prosecutor still aren't warming up to Haller. Investigating this case
turns dangerous and personal after someone working for Haller is murdered. It also takes
him in an unexpected direction which leads him to some unsavory characters who have him
on the defense in and out of court. The intensity of it all leaves Haller examining his
personal life - what it is and what he wants it to be.
This is quite a legal thriller. It's a complex, suspenseful ride that demands all your
attention. Connelly is best known for his Los Angeles detective series with Harry Bosch.
The Lincoln Lawyer is so well written and Mickey Haller is such a strong character
that Bosch doesn't even come to mind once the first CD begins. You have to pass this one
on to your friends. It's a excellent listen. |
