The Chocolate Bridal Bash
Chocoholic mystery #6

by Joanna Carl

Lee McKinney is trying to get her wedding plans taken care of and wonders why her mother doesn’t want to come back to Warner Pier, the town she grew up in, for the wedding. Lee then gets some interesting information regarding her mother right before her wedding. Lee learns that her mother ran away right before her own wedding and that her mother’s fiancé was found dead just hours after she left. Lee then struggles to solve the mystery of her mother and her mother’s fiancé before her own wedding.

The characterization of Lee McKinney continues to get better and better with every book that Joanna Carl writes. The small town atmosphere is a must for The Chocolate Bridal Bash. If there were not a small town environment, the gossip about Lee’s mother could not take place in a realistic way. The gossip is an important component to The Chocolate Bridal Bash.

The mystery that Lee is faced with is something new to typical murder mysteries and the approach is done realistically. Imagine yourself finding out that your mother had a fiancé who allegedly killed himself!

Overall, The Chocolate Bridal Bash is an entertaining mystery with additional chocolate facts and trivia, which is a must for any chocoholic.
