Fear
by Jeff Abbott
Fear. What would you do to make it stop? If the worst thing possible happened to
you, could you make the Fear go away? What if someone developed a drug and tested
it unknowingly on patients who suffered from PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder? What if
the drug really worked, and your Fear and memories of the worst day of your life
could be made manageable, less traumatic? What would you do?
Miles Kendrick is in the Witness Protection Program. He's on the run from an unhappy
encounter with the Mob. He's receiving therapy from Dr. Allison Vance, who offers him a
chance to change his life. This is when the PTSD medicine test files called "Frost" are
discovered stolen, and Miles's doctor ends up dead. Miles must fend for himself or give
himself up to the F.B.I. and tell the truth. Others out there know about "Frost" and want
the files back so they can be the first to market the new drug.
This was an exciting thriller with an intriguing idea about such a drug. What will the
ex-FBI agent Dennis Groote, who is also on the trail, be willing to do to recover this
medicine for his daughter Amanda? She has suffered a horrible and tragic event involving
the death of her mother. Is "Frost" really going to be a miracle cure for some, or will
it just be another tragic event to the people who know of its existence? Complete with
a shocking ending, this is one book you won't be able to put it down till you find out
how Miles, Nathan, Celeste and Dennis face their Fear. |
