Have Your Cake and Kill Him Too
A Blackbird Sisters Mystery
by Nancy Martin
Have Your Cake and Kill Him Too by Nancy Martin shares with readers another adventure
in the lives of the Blackbird sisters. After the tragic death of her first husband, Nora
finds herself in the middle of a love triangle and an unexpected pregnancy. If that's not
enough to keep her preoccupied, Nora inherits an enormous debt and she has to keep the
bills paid on her family's estate. As if that's still not enough to complicate her personal
life, Nora also finds herself unraveling the murder mystery of Zell Orcutt. The list of
potential suspects is long, and it includes Nora's friend, Delilah.
The list begins with a glitch in the will that left Zell's wife with the Fitch Fancy
Estate. Zell had already auctioned it off as quickly as he seized control of it, leaving
a trail of angry family members behind him. The suspect list continues to grow as one of
Zell's former business partners was locked away, and Zell's current business associate,
Delilah, was known to have had a heated argument with him right before his death. The
possibilities continue to grow, however, because Zell's latest business venture is a
complete rip-off from his stepdaughter's trademark signature: cupcakes.
The author, Nancy Martin, fills the story with a wide array of colorful characters and
unusual events that will keep readers turning the pages. From an erotic yoga club society
to a rocker-turned-baker to a hush hush pregnancy, it is a wonder that Nora has the strength
to investigate the murder at all. |
