Deal Breaker
Myron Bolitar Series, No. 1
by Harlan Coben
Read by Jonathan Marosz
Deal Breaker is a re-release of the first in a series starring Sports Agent Myron Bolitar. It’s the ideal
introduction into Myron’s world. Myron became a sports agent after his basketball career tanked. Readers will find
this world is male-dominated and filled with beautiful women. But only one woman in Myron’s world is absolutely
perfect, and when she reappears in his life, he is painfully stunned.
Myron isn’t the only one dealing with the return of an old girlfriend. While negotiating a contract for rookie
quarterback Christian Steele, Myron learns that the love of his life disappeared, too, and is supposed to be dead.
A phone call from her, or someone pretending to be her, has Christian doubting everything, including his contract.
Even worse, her picture is being used for a phone sex ad. When Myron delves into the origin of the ad and discovers
the phone sex business with all its distorted, illicit trappings, he unwittingly adds a deadly extension into his
world.
Deal Breaker is a revealing, action-packed introduction into the world of sports and its dealings. Myron
is curious, witty, and full of surprises. In hindsight, I can see a strong character straight out of the gate in
the first novel is why this series took off. Myron suffers his own losses in life - career, lover, etc - and he
becomes a hero in need of saving others. Readers can’t help but root for him and wish him a better life.
Jonathan Marosz narrates the audio version. Content is strong, so remember those headphones. |
