Persia Vanderbilt is co-owner of "Venus Envy, bath and beauty shop and day spa" located in Gull Harbor, Washington. Plagued with problems dealing with her ex-boyfriend (Elliott Parker), former accountant-turned-embezzler who is stalking her, Persia has her hands full. Between her job at "Venus Envy", writing her monthly column on beauty hints for "Pout Magazine", her current boyfriend (Killian) and now the mysterious disappearance of a friend and a fellow co-worker, Persia is one busy gal!

Lisa Tremont works as a makeup artist at "Venus Envy". She and her sister Amy have struggled financially since their father's death. After his death, Mr. Tremont's money was nowhere to be found and Lisa is determined to find out what happened to it. One day, Lisa leaves work early to investigate a possible lead into the disappearance of her father's money. The next day her car is found abandoned at Lookout Pier and the police are certain she drowned. Persia isn't so convinced. Lisa was terrified of the water and would have never gone anywhere near it. It's not until Lisa's broken medic-alert bracelet is found close to where her car was located that foul play is suspected.

Dealing with the ongoing ex-boyfriend with lots of "issues" problem, Persia sets out to find the answers behind Lisa's disappearance and hopefully find Lisa.
