Hit Parade
John Kellery Mystery
by Lawrence Block
Keller
is a hired Hit Man, so what does that mean to the average
person, he kills for a living. This book is really good at
not telling you how he does the killing, just that he does.
I find this a great new way of storytelling. Lawrence Block
leaves some of the details to the reader, so that they can also
use their imaginations and assist in writing the best book possible.
While I am not an advocate of murder in any degree, I found myself
wanting to continue reading this book, just to see what Keller encountered
next.
The direction
of the book unfolds as you read it, the targets that Keller is hired
to kill is ever changing. I guess that old saying may come
into play here; everyone is out to get you, no matter who you
are. You don't even have to be a big wig, just an average
guy or gal that someone has a beef with. It's the reasons
that perspective clients come up with that make you wonder, are
they for real! How about Fluffy the Pit Bull, he also kills for
a living and his owner gets a thrill out of watching him do the
deed. Now who would want him killed? It turns out no one,
and everyone.
It's a well
written book and it keeps you guessing. I would recommend
it as one that is worth picking up and not putting down until you
have finished reading it!
