The Quickie
by
James Patterson & Michael Lidwidge
”The Quickie”
is James Patterson's latest offering written with Michael Ledwidge,
a summer sizzler that is more fun than ice cream.
All Lauren
Stillwell wanted to do was surprise her husband, Paul, with lunch.
She put on her sexiest little black dress for the occasion. Then,
she called his assistant to make sure he would be in the office.
It had been a while since their last romantic luncheon, with both
of them working. This was especially true since their careers often
took them out of town in different directions. So, Lauren decided
it was high time, to rekindle the romance in their marriage.
However, when
she arrived at the steel and glass town that housed her husband's
office, she was the one who got the surprise. As she drove up she
saw Paul leaving the building with a very attractive blonde in tow.
Together, they took a cab to a hotel near by. They got out and went
in. After waiting a while to see if Paul would remerge from the
hotel, Lauren went home, disappointed and hurt.
Well, two could
play at this game. Perhaps she should carry that harmless interoffice
flirtation to the next step. After all, Scott Thayer was quite a
hunk.
From here,
things really heat up. Lauren finds herself living a nightmare.
She only wishes she could wake up from this wicked play that is
now her life. The story plot has more twists and turns than a mountain
switchback. Each twist changes the entire story and sends you down
a totally unexpected path. The sex scenes are too graphic for my
taste, as is the language. Otherwise, it's a great story. Read “The
Quickie” and enjoy.
