A Secret Rage
by Charlaine Harris
I was drawn
to this novel because of the character as a successful New York
City model, who is now studying to become a writer. This was my
appeal to this book. Along the way I ran into a criminal part of
the book, and this kept the book very interesting.
I
love thrillers, and A Secret Rage did not disappoint. I
love the character of Nickie Callahan who is smart, and can move
mountains if she needs to. She’s a confident woman. I also
liked the friendship she shared with her best friend. This is a
thriller, but a friendship novel, too.
The rape scene
in the movie is violent, but was a reality check since rape is a
vicious crime, and there are a lot of women who have been assaulted
in this way. Of course Nickie has to take matters into her own hands
to stop the violent crimes taking over Knolls, Tennesse, as a serial
killer is on the loose.
A
Secret Rage is filled with plenty of tension and mystery, and
I was captivated by every page, waiting to find out what was going
to happen next. I highly recommend it to readers who are thinking
about a change in careers, or like myself, are interested in other
views on modeling and writing. This is definitely a book worth reading
and Charlaine Harris’ name will definitely be added to my
list of favorite authors. Read A Secret Rage and get taken
into a very powerful book where crime has its own name.
