The Chocolate Snowman Murders
A Chocoholic Mystery #8
by JoAnna Carl
Lee Woodyard serves on the Winter Fest Committee, the planning committee for the Pier Winter Arts Festival. Warner
Pier, Michigan is a quaint resort town along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan with a winter population of 2, 500.
Lee is also the Business Manager at TenHuis Chocolade, owned by her aunt Nettie.
Fletcher Mendenhall is the guest juror of the arts festival show. When Joe, Lee's husband, isn't able to pick
Fletcher up at the airport, Lee volunteers for the job. Fletcher Mendenhall is very drunk when she picks him up
from the airport. While fighting off his advances, Lee decides to drop him at a motel and have someone else pick
him up in the morning. The next morning Fletcher is found dead in his motel room, beaten to death with the hotel's
bedside lamp. Joe and Lee are at the top of Sergeant McCullough's suspect list and he vows to throw them to the
wolves. Then, another person connected with the committee is found dead, beaten to death with a cast iron kitchen
skillet. Soon after that someone in a snowman suit assaults Lee. Joe and Lee scramble to solve this mystery
before Sergeant McCullough throws the book at them.
The Chocolate Snowman Murders is an entertaining cozy mystery. I enjoyed the characters and found them
delightful. The Chocolate Snowman Murders was a fun book to curl up on the couch with on this dark and rainy
day. A fast-paced cozy mystery that is a delight to read. |
