Cochise County Sheriff Joanna Brady must juggle her career with the needs of her writer husband Butch, their infant
son and her teenage daughter.
Her day begins with the bodies of an elderly couple who drove their car off a cliff. Was it consensual suicide
or murder / suicide? Then Detective Carbajal's nephew discovers a body in the desert, a woman shoots a home
invader who may or may not be her abusive boyfriend, and a mysterious fire kills an older man and leaves three
homeless.
Joanna must investigate all of these events to determine whether any were accidents and which were a result of
foul play. Her investigations lead to a shady organization that created a halfway house for disabled, troubled
persons, using them for criminal activities. She finds a solution to her own problems with the displaced family
taking over her ranch.
Damage Control is a fast-paced story with well drawn characters. We are reacquainted with Brady and her
family. It is a story of family betrayals and conflicts which lead to death.
An absorbing read that constantly keeps the reader's interest.
